Wednesday, October 31, 2012 – Nunavut Hansard – Member’s Statement: UNESCO Audiovisual History – IBC’s Archives (pp. 6-7)

Hon. Monica Ell:

“… Mr. Speaker, UNESCO designated October 27 as World Day for Audiovisual Heritage in order to raise awareness of the challenges linked to audiovisual heritage preservation.

The collection is currently at risk, spread out in facilities that cannot meet the necessary archiving standards for preservation. The clock is ticking!
