Today, the Inuit Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) is holding a fundraiser for the Nunavut Media Arts Centre (NMAC) in conjunction with a Toyota Canada ‘Corolla Search’ marketing event. Toyota recently sent 95 2014 Corollas to locations across Canada for the contest. At 10:00 a.m. this morning, the secret Ottawa location of one of their cars was made known to contest participants: the parking lot of 331 Cooper Street. The parking space was organized by IBC through The Regional Group, property manager of the building where IBC has an office. From 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., IBC staff will be on hand (rain or shine) with the Toyota reps, and will be handing out information about the NMAC building fund and receiving donations. Toyota will be making a contribution to the NMAC.

Donors of $20 or more can have their pictures taken with a Takuginai (children’s show) puppet from noon until 1:30 p.m. and receive a photo fridge magnet and charitable tax receipt.

In order to participate in the Corolla Search, contestants either download the ‘App’ or play on Facebook. A YouTube video of instructions is available on the Toyota Canada website. Contest prizes include 1 of 5 2014 Corollas, and eight Tablets and 100 gift cards are given away each week.

This NMAC fundraiser follows last week’s partnership announcement for the financing and construction of the building to be completed in early 2015.
